Continuing a commitment through an estate plan

Continuing a commitment through an estate plan

A longtime WETA donor, Cindy Hubbard Culbertson loves WETA programming. For more than 20 years, Cindy volunteered as a phone bank manager for WETA TV and FM pledge drives and helped with WETA special events. Her engagement with so many enthusiastic WETA staff, volunteers and donors was particularly rewarding. Shortly after retiring from a career as a bank regulator, Cindy met and married John in 2016. They enjoy WETA programming together and John regularly listens to WETA CLASSICAL while working in his garage.

The Culbertsons rarely watch commercial television because they value the well written, quality programming WETA brings through MASTERPIECE and Mystery, and the in-depth educational programming provided by Ken Burns, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and many others. Not only is PBS NewsHour their first choice for impartial journalism and analysis, but NewsHour is the only broadcast they watch for election coverage.

Cindy explains, "We are able to enjoy this programming largely because of the generosity of loyal WETA supporters who preceded us. We want to continue that commitment by making a gift to WETA through our estate plan. It is so important to make WETA content available to future generations and we encourage others to do so."
